Ashford chose to bat first, and got off to a good start, with 68 on the board after half of their 30 overs. Becky Halls and Katie Butler continued their partnership until Butler reached the retirement score of 35, and was replaced by Hannah Merchant, who hit two of the first 3 balls she faced for 4. Ashford then suffered a bit of a collapse, three of the middle order failing to score at all, and it took a rearguard action from Sarah Taylor and Kirsty Hull, both of whom found the boundary, as well as the returning Butler, to bring the team up to a score of 127.

Reigate started steadily, and got over 50 on the board before the first wicket fell, a good catch by Katie Butler behind the stumps. A run out then followed, Angharad Purser making no mistake in the field. Thrush took the attack to Ashford, finding the rope with ease, and finished off with a 6, to retire on 40. Ashford had not been at their best in the field, but Katie Brown did well on her debut, and Yolandi Maynier took an excellent catch at point to give Hannah Merchant a well deserved wicket. Maynier then got Ashford hopes up as she took two wickets in two balls, the second a testing high catch well taken by Sarah Taylor. However it was not to be, as the Reigate batsmen kept their cool and saw their side home with more than four overs left
