Day 2

Day 1
It is with great pleasure that we are writing this, as it means that we have been successful in obtaining the large tranche of funding needed to start the long anticipated new nets project.
Firstly, we would like to extend a huge thank you to you, our members, for all of your kind donations and efforts in fundraising over the past 7 years, which has seen us raise circa £65,000 towards this fantastic cause.
In addition, we would like to thank the following organisations that have allowed us to reach our target and their funding is included above:
- Ashford (Short Lane) Sports - £15,000
- Surrey Cricket Foundation - £10,000 – still to be confirmed.
- Community Foundation for Surrey - £7,228
- Local Conversation in Stanwell - £4,601
- Surrey Playing Field - £1,000
The new nets project will see Ashford (Short Lane) Sports Limited and Ashford Cricket Club install an 3 lane, ECB approved artificial surface with security fence which will allow the club to offer top of the range practice facilities to all ACC members helping them to develop and improve their game, as well as help to draw in new talent for years to come.

The ACC nets subcommittee has been in discussions with various contractors and have chosen S&C Slatter to help the Club turn this long-awaited project into a reality. The project is due to get under way on 22nd March and construction should take around 3-4 weeks.
Finally, the club would like to pass on its thanks to those involved in the nets subcommittee (both past and present) who have dedicated many hours to getting the club to this stage.
Regular updates on progress will be posted in due course and we all look forward to seeing the new facilities in action in the coming season.
The Club is now focussing on the practical side of exactly how we operationally manage and sustain this wonderful new facility.
