Photo Bradninch vs. Ashford - Ashford win 4 out of 5 games in South Devon

Ashford Cricket Club returned home from its 70th tour of South Devon on Friday (June 3rd) tired but delighted with the results. A week of fine, warm and sunny weather (unusual and very unlike back home in Surrey) saw the tourists play five games taking on Woodbury, Bradninch, Seaton, Exeter and Sidmouth. A touring party which, at one time or another, included 46 different members, friends and guests was a magnificent achievement and certainly confirms the future of this tour for the foreseeable future.
The results were very satisfying with wins in the first two fixtures against Woodbury and Bradninch, a reverse in the short 30 over game against Seaton with two further wins against Exeter and Sidmouth.

Full results can be found on the Ashford play-cricket site but in summary:

Sunday May 29th:
Ashford 193 for 6 (40 overs), Woodbury 90. Ashford won.
James Berressem 47, Paul Cousens 42, Kevin Antonio 3 for 8.

On Thursday evening, following the Sidmouth match, the traditional Tour Meal was held at the headquarters, The St George and Dragon pub in Clyst St George. 27 tourists had an enjoyable meal and the Dennis Cornwell trophy for "Tourist of the Year" was voted on by all available tourists. The winner, by a clear margin, was Stpehen Brown. Many congratulations.

Please can someone send me copies of the team photos taken at Sidmouth and I will add them to this report.
