Special moment for Ashford juniors as they take to the world stage at the Cricket World Cup 2019

A group of 15 Ashford CC juniors set off early this morning for a once in a lifetime experience at the Cricket World Cup 2019.

Our kids arrived bright and early in Kennington to rehearse for their roles as the Anthem Kids in today's CWC19 match Australia vs SRi Lanka at the Oval.

Smartly turned out in official uniform, the kids led out cricket superstars including Lasith Malinga and Angelo Matthews for the Sri Lanka national anthem.

If you missed the start of coverage on Sky Sports, check out the video here to see our kids do Ashford CC proud.

Special thanks to the parent chaperones who organised the kids, re-routed around engineering works at Feltham station (Grrhh!) and got everyone to the Oval: Sravan & Mananas Thatta, Asma Bawa, Graham Ledger and Phil Wells.

We look forward to receiving reports from the kids on their experience...
