Ashford Cricket Club 2025 AGM / 2026 EGM
 
Dear Members,
 
As most of you are probably aware, the AGM held on Thursday 13th November 2025 was a difficult meeting. Despite the best efforts of the Chair, the meeting was noisy and member’s discipline was poor. The then Secretary Robert Nicholls had prepared meticulously for the meeting to ensure the usual issues with member’s eligibility to vote were minimised, but a number of problems were subsequently identified.
 
Since the AGM there has been a lengthy review of the voting process, investigations into queries regarding membership eligibility and the validity of the elections of the captains.
 
On behalf of the whole club, your committee would like to apologise, in particular, to Mansoor Malik for any possible errors that may have occurred during the AGM.
 
This situation should not have occurred, and your committee has now agreed an amended AGM voting procedure which will be used for the AGM in November 2026 onwards. This new procedure is attached for your information.
 
Your ACC Committee would now like to get back to the important matters of managing cricket for the forthcoming season, which formally started on Saturday May 9th with the first league matches of the season.
 
Let’s all now pull together, work as a united club to support your fellow members and your committee to ensure future success for Ashford Cricket Club. Please get behind your captains and fully support them as they work hard to achieve success for ACC.
