200 Club updates

James Berressem15 Oct 2020 - 21:16

The recent winners and plans for this year's annual bumper draw

If you were not aware, during the summer our 200 Club draw manger Craig Turner has been posting videos of 200 Club draws on the Ashford CC Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/282994341862080). As update, here are the recent lucky winners:

Round 3 winners:
1st prize (£100): Peter Davies (#56)
2nd Prize (£50): Bill Lynskey (#164)

Round 4 winners:
1st prize (£100): Bill White (#244)
2nd Prize (£50): Richard Wallis (#232)

Round 5 winners:
1st prize (£100): Kevin Antonio (#13)
2nd Prize (£50): Sarabjeet Kaur (#203)

Craig will set up his camera to video the Round 6 draw this month (October).

Plans for the annual bumper draw £££
Unfortunately, the restrictions imposed by the pandemic has led to the cancellation of this year's annual awards dinner, which normally is the venue for our bumper annual 200 Club. So our plan is to conduct the bumper draw as part of our AGM in November, which may have take a web-based "Zoom" format - again due to covid restrictions. An update on the AGM arrangements will be published in the coming weeks.

The 200 Club exists as a major fundraiser for the Club. Last year its fund has been able to donate in the region of £1400 to the Cricket Club. This money can then help the club maintain and hopefully improve upon the facilities and services it provides to the benefit of the members.

Current participation in the draw ensures that there are six draws in the year. In addition to these, there are two annual major prizes of £400 and £200

Signing up for a new number (or numbers) is another way members can help support the club.

Shares cost £12 each and can be paid for by cash, cheque or, preferably, by bank standing order annually or for as little as £1 per month. At least 50% of the money raised is returned to the members by way of prizes.

Ideally we would love every playing member and each family in the Junior Section of the club to hold at least one share. If that were the case, there would be at least an extra £500 in prize money and an extra £500 towards the club’s development as well as more chances for members to have their subscriptions paid by winning!

Please support this worthwhile and important fundraiser by purchasing at least one share. A Standing Order Mandate form is attached for you to print and complete accordingly and return to either Saad Choudhary (treasurer) or Craig Turner (200 Club promoter), or direct to 200 Club fund manager: Chris White, 19 Nursery Road, Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex TW16 6LA.
