Intense downpour does for final T20 matches but support for Race Night generates helpful club funds

Unfortunately, a downpour on Saturday afternoon brought President's Day T20 cricket to an abrupt and permanent halt. The heavy rain shower came just as the final round of T20 matches commenced, the final featuring Ibrar Rao's Warriors XI versus Sean Cully's Champions XI.

On a more positive note it was encouraging to see four XIs fielded on the day comprising playing members of all ages with some of the parents of junior members making special appearances - see photo.

Thanks to Saad Choudhary for organising the day; and thanks to President Jas Rehncy for providing and serving an excellent curry later in the day.

Despite the earlier rain the going remained good to firm in the clubhouse for the Race Night. Thanks to the support of members, their families and friends who came to enjoy a flutter the evening generated £181 for the Club's Net Fund.

Many thanks to Mick Tilt and Phil for organsing and running the successful evening; and thanks to all the race sponsors.
