Ashford Ladies travelled to Malvern College on Sunday (6th April) to play in the Womens Indoor National Knockout (WINKO). Ashford along with 7 other teams had made the journey to and with only one defeat in the group stages saw Ashford progress to the semi-final.

The semi-final was a close affair against a very strong Hursley Park who had not lost a game all day. With Ashford needing 3 off the last ball it fell to the final pair of Becky Halls and Katie Butler to take them home and in to their first national final.

The final was played against Truro Griffins who were the 2013 winners, and they were not wanting to give up their trophy easily. Ashford bowlers of Hannah Merchant, Angharad Purser and Yolandi Maynier bowled well together to restrict Truro to a par score. The semi-final and the bowling had taken a bit more out of the ladies then they realised and a couple of run outs costing the team vital runs handed the trophy to Truto Griffins.

It was a great expereince for the ladies who will have learnt alot, for future tournaments and a great day was had by all.
