I'm proud of the way the team has gelled and going unbeaten, in the group phase, is a great achievement. The team buys into the Slam ethos of playing hard but fair and being inclusive to all. l

Ashford Jets' have topped the North West C Group, having gone unbeaten in the group phase. We faced off against Egham Eagles, Staines Sharks (twice) and the Staines & Laleham Stags.

The Slam is about inclusivity and having fun, so it's been great to see many of our members playing at different times, with our juniors also heavily involved. The Slam also assists with marketing Ashford cc and we have gained at least one new full member this year through the Slam marketing.

Having beaten off Eagles, Sharks and Stags, its perhaps appropriate that the Jets now face the Walton Wolves in the Championship phase of the Midweek Slam. The fixture date is Wed 10 July, with Thu 11 July in reserve in case of any inclement weather. Its a home fixture starting at 6pm so let's hope the sun shines and get down and support the Jets!
