The wrong Trousers
Ashford come up short away to Indian Gymkhana
How best to describe our empty at winning a cricket match this Sunday, in a Tweet?
Sunday 1s captain arrives at away game in mobile home and finds he has no whites in bag. #village— Ashford Cricket Club (@AshfordCricket) May 12, 2013
On the field things didn't get much better for Langworth, despite winning the toss, and following the Sunday mantra; if it looks like you should bowl , bat, Ashford were comfortably second best. the innings started well enough, our newly steroid enhanced PT sing his new found muscle to punch a couple of sixes before chipping to extra cover. Young buk Bilal played a composed innings of 27 with wickets tumbling around him before trying to up the gas and holing out to mid on, but despite the run out, the Saturday Twos captain should take note...
Big dog found wanting on a quick single, run out for 2. Too many pints? Sun 1s 17-2 batting on a sticky dog.— Ashford Cricket Club (@AshfordCricket) May 12, 2013
Some confident hitting from Simmo and JB took us up to semi respectability of 134/9 from our 45 and after an excellent curry we took to the field. Simpson trusted with new ball got his £100 worth with 5 overs, costing him £25 a pop, bowling some tight lines and was ably supported by our spin attack, with a special mention going to Adil Ali who built on his debut performance a few weeks back.
However 134 was never going to enough and we lost by 6 wickets, but put up a credible performance in defeat.
