A S H F O R D C R I C K E T C L U B 1st XI Sunday & Friendly Report 2009 With a mixture of friendlies and league matches this past season has produced some mixed results. In the Thameside League competition it was struggle to get a constantly strong side together, with a few of our better players absent for a lot of games. Although congratulations are in order for my vice-captain Simon Cook, who was absent due to the arrival of his new son Callum. The season had some mixed individual performances, which included a few exceptional batting performances from James ‘Jock’ Knill, Dan Rose and Paul Frost – well done guys. There was also great bowling performances from Ashleigh Armel-Close, Jaz Sanghera, and Harry Jackman as well as the odd appearance from wicket-keeper Ross Wright. Taking on the captaincy of the Sunday 1st XI has been a challenge but definitely an enjoyable one. I’d like to thank all those who helped out during the summer, especially our overseas player Trent Nash who helped with captaincy when I wasn’t available Thanks again, and good luck to everyone for the next season.
