Contribute a little of your time for Natwest CricketForce weekend on 24/25 March to help ready the club for the new season

Your help could make all the difference
- Jim Berressem - Chairman

The start of a new cricket season is nearly upon us. The NatWest CricketForce weekend is on 24th & 25th March and the aim is to focus our efforts as a club community to prepare the facilities at Short Lane so that we are ready to host another full programme of cricket this summer. We are hoping to get most things done on Saturday as the ground will be very busy on Sunday.

A list of tasks to be addressed has been drawn up. What's required now is for members and friends of the club to give up a brief period of their time to contribute to achieving these goals.

If you can spare even just an hour on the Saturday (or possibly Sunday) to join the work party, your help could make all the difference.

The working party will gather at the club at around 9:30 am on Saturday. It would be best to wear appropriate outdoor work clothes.

The tasks include:

  • Painting and repairing sightscreens, if necessary. They were all done last year.
  • Repair the net poles and prepare the nets for the season .
  • Push covers out of their winter storage. Carry out maintenance on covers.
  • Test scoreboards and repair as necessary
  • Get benches down from the balcony and store in a changing room
  • Tidy changing rooms for cricket season
  • Litter picking
  • Tree / bush pruning

You contribution will make a difference!
